If the communication line (EFIO - IMI) to the ID code box is stuck on HI output, the ECM stored this DTC.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. If the ID code box is replaced, register the ECU code and ECU communication ID.
  2. If the ECM is replaced, register the ECU communication ID.

1.CHECK FOR DTC

  1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

  1. Recheck for DTCs (Click here).

    HINT:
    If any DTCs other than B279A are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ID CODE BOX - ECM)

  1. Disconnect the ID code box connector.



  1. Disconnect the ECM connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. for 1ND-TV

      Standard Resistance:

      		Below 1 Ω
      D30-6 (EFIO) - Body ground
      		Always
      		10 kΩ or higher

    2. for 1KR-FE and 1NR-FE

      Standard Resistance:
      Tester Connection
      		Condition
      		Specified Condition
      D30-6 (EFIO) - A18-11 (IMI)
      		Always
      		Below 1 Ω
      D30-6 (EFIO) - Body ground
      		Always
      		10 kΩ or higher

  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Voltage:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    D30-6 (EFIO) - Body ground
    		Always
    		Below 1 V

3.CHECK ID CODE BOX (WAVEFORM)

  1. Reconnect the ID code box connector.

  1. Reconnect the ECM connector.



  1. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.
